Definition of computer

Word computer derived from Latin word “compute”witch mean to calculate.

Four classification of Digital Computer:

1: Micro Computers

Micro Computer known as personal computer. These computer are small that are found in offices, schools, homes, these computer have microprocessor chip as the CPU. Types of micro computer like desktop computer,stand on floore and some other known as micro computer
2:Mini (Midrange) Computer

Mini computer have more speed data processing and large data storage capacity than micro computer.Mini or Midrage computers are used in more than one person or multi user envoirment where many people works at once time mini computer introduced in 1960.

3:Mainframe Computer

Mainframe computer is more more powerful than mini computer. Mainframe computer are lagre in size and expensive. Minfram computer handle large number user at same time. These computer introduced in 1970.mainfram computer are best for large organization, where data centralized and store and processing is required.

 4:Super Computer

Super computer are very powerful and expensive. These computer are built to process complex calculations. These computer are mostely used for nuclear research monitoring of satellites launching of rockets and many more purpose. Speed of super computer is generally measured in (FLOPS:- Floatingpoint Operations Per Second.

                      Super computer of NUTS’s new 132 teraflop has catapulted the Pakistani university’s NUST super computer is named ScREC after its supercomputing research education center. NUST Computer speed is 132 TFLOPS and Storage is 21.6 TB or (Tera Byte)
